The Importance of Sleep in a Mama's Life
Several nights in the past few weeks have found me getting to sleep for more than three hours...something that hasn't happened since Alex was born almost 7 years ago. I have been a much better mama on the days following those nights...now I still have not slept THROUGH the night, but it has been much better. For so long, I have been wondering why it seems like I can never get enough energy, instead relying on Pepsi to perk me up. I have been wondering, too, why I seem to "snap" at my husband or children so quickly, but now I am convinced that the main reason is that I wasn't getting enough sleep. I know this isn't exactly new information to many of us. We all know that we need to get enough sleep, but somehow we think it's really not THAT important. We would rather clean the house once the kids go to bed or watch a movie...or eat chocolate (is that just me?). But please try getting more sleep if you are feeling like I had been for so long. You will be amazed at the difference it makes!
